D50 Announces the Retirement of Dr. Steve Glenn

Greenwood District 50 announces that Dr. Steve Glenn, Superintendent, has announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2025.  In a special called meeting on Monday, March 3, the Board accepted Dr. Glenn’s retirement in a unanimous vote.

As he embarks on the next chapter, Dr. Glenn remarked that “the past six years have been a journey of challenges and triumphs. I want to thank the Board for your service to our community and for providing me with the opportunity to serve Greenwood 50 as its Superintendent. Under our leadership, this District is second to none in this state.  Together, we worked hard and did what was best for students and our community. This hard work by our students, teachers, staff and administrators was recognized in many ways and was especially highlighted when the South Carolina State Superintendent recognized Greenwood 50 as the ‘Elementary model for the state.’”

Clay Sprouse, D50 Board Chair, congratulated Dr. Glenn and stated, “Dr. Glenn has done an exemplary job leading our District during the last six years.  His dedication and persistence have paid off major dividends for our students and staff, and the Board is grateful for his time in D50.  We wish Dr. Glenn the best success in the future and recognize his lasting impact here in our community.”
