Two New Elementary Principals Named in District 50

Greenwood School District 50 recently announced the selection of two new Elementary Principals following Tuesday night’s Board of Trustees meeting. 

 

Taylor Crosby will be the Principal at Pinecrest Elementary next school year. Crosby has 15 years of experience in education, with 13 of those years in Greenwood District 50. She is currently an Assistant Principal at Pinecrest Elementary. During her time in D50, Crosby served as a teacher and has been an administrator for the past 4 years. Crosby obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lander University in 2010 and her Masters degree in Montessori Education from Lander University in 2013. She also received a Masters degree as an Education Specialist from Clemson University in 2018.

  

Julia McClanahan has been named as the new Principal at Woodfields Elementary School. McClanahan has served as the Assistant Principal at Woodfields for the last two years. Before becoming an Assistant Principal at Woodfields, McClanahan served as an ACTS art teacher at Brewer Middle School. During her 14 years in public education, she has worked as a middle and elementary art teacher in Greenwood School District 50, Laurens County School District 56, and Florence County School District 3. McClanahan received her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lander University. She obtained her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Clemson University.

 

Superintendent Glenn said, “We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Crosby and Dr. McClanahan as new principals in our district. These administrators bring knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a deep commitment to student growth and success in their new roles. We are confident they will continue fostering a positive learning environment where all students can thrive.”
