D50 Ranked as the 22nd SC School District on SchoolDigger.com

Greenwood School District 50 was recently ranked as the 22nd school district out of 75 districts in the state according to SchoolDigger.com. SchoolDigger is an online database that provides detailed profiles of over 136,000 public and private schools across the US. The database features and ranks school districts and schools based on enrollment data, test scores, financial statistics, and more. 


With the 22nd ranking, District 50 rose 15 spots in the South Carolina school district rankings from the previous school year which marked the largest improvement in the state. The district was also recognized for having a 4-star rating in the state. Several District 50 schools also showed improvement on the recent rankings released by SchoolDigger. 


  • Pinecrest Elementary passed 355 schools in the state moving up from its 483rd rank to 128th.

  • Hodges Elementary moved up in the rankings from 115th to 39th in the state.

  • Rice Elementary passed 201 schools moving from 502nd to 301st. 

  • Woodfields Elementary also moved up in the state rankings 157 spots from 370th to 213rd. 

  • Merrywood, Mathews, and Mays all ranked in the top 200 elementary schools in the state out of 638 elementary schools in South Carolina.

“We are excited about the recent rankings of our district and schools on SchoolDigger.com,” Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn stated. “In 2019, we were ranked as the 53rd school district on the online database. Our district continues to show unbelievable improvement and growth in student achievement and test scores. These rankings are a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers and staff. We will continue to look for ways to improve our district and schools as we work together with our community to make a difference in the lives of our children.”
