“I am excited about this new career opportunity in D50,” Corley stated. “I look forward to continuing to build positive relationships with our students and staff at Genesis.”
During her nine year tenure in D50, Corley has worked as a Principal at Hodges Elementary School and Benjamin E. Mays Elementary School. Corley has also worked as an Assistant Director at the G. Frank Russell Technology Center. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Genesis Education Center. Prior to working for Greenwood School District 50, Corley worked as an administrator and teacher in Saluda County Schools and Edgefield County Schools.
Corley obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Lander University and her Master of Education in Administration from Clemson University. In 2021, she graduated from Clemson University with a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn said, “Dr. Corley is an excellent administrator in our district. She has shown great leadership at Genesis, and I am confident she will continue to excel in her new role as Director next school year.”
Current Director of Genesis Education Center, Damian Coleman, will retire at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Principal and Director Changes Announced at February Board Meeting
During the February Board of Trustees meeting, a principal and director role were approved.
Current Interim Principal of Mathews Elementary School, Debbie Leonard, will become Principal at Mathews Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. She will remain Interim Principal the remainder of this school year.
Current Interim Director of Special Services, Ginny Gast, will become Director of Special Services for the 2023-2024 school year. She will remain Interim Director of Special Services the remainder of this school year.
