“Our district saw significant improvement in several areas of this year’s state assessments,” Superintendent Dr. Steve Glenn stated. “I’m proud to say that our district has not seen this type of growth in several years. While we aren’t where we want to be, we are getting better.”
According to a South Carolina Department of Education press release, the SCPASS and SC READY Assessment results “confirm the impacts caused by the pandemic.” District 50 has noticed the impact of the pandemic in our middle schools in mathematics. Despite the impact of the pandemic, Greenwood School District 50 improved in the following areas on the SC READY tests:
Greenwood School District 50 increased the percentage of students in the Meets or Exceeds Expectations categories on SC READY ELA in every grade level.

Greenwood School District 50 increased the percentage of students in the Meets or Exceeds Expectations categories on SC READY Math in grades 3-5.

“State assessments are one snapshot of a student’s achievement and so many factors go into helping our students grow to reach their full potential,” Dr. Glenn stated. “I would like to thank our teachers for their hard work and dedication to helping increase assessment results and constantly caring about and teaching our children on a daily basis.”
